Everything you need to know before you buy.

A plain-language guide to astrological gemstones — what they are, how they work, and how to choose the right one for your chart.

In Vedic astrology, each of the nine planets (navagrahas) governs a specific area of life — and each planet has a corresponding gemstone that strengthens its energy in the wearer's chart.

The key word is "strengthen." A gemstone does not change your chart; it amplifies the energy of the planet it represents. If that planet is benefic for you — well-placed and friendly to your ascendant — the stone can be deeply helpful. If it is not, wearing its stone could have the opposite effect.

This is why we take the time to understand your chart before recommending any stone — because the wrong stone can genuinely cause harm.

Always choose untreated stones. A heat-treated or filled gem has had its crystal structure altered — which, in the Vedic system, means it has lost its astrological potency. Every stone we sell is certified untreated by the GJEPC (Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, Govt. of India).

Weight matters. The minimum effective weight for most gems is 2 carats, worn against the skin in a ring or pendant. Below this threshold, the stone may have little or no effect.
